Amazon's Audible turns up the volume in India. Chalega?

The most important audiobook company in the world entered India last month with an all-English library. To make a big play, it will need to change track fast.

In November, after much speculation on the launch date, India finally got Audible, the audiobooks publisher and platform Amazon acquired 10 years ago for USD300 million. The India launch package consists of over 200,000 titles, some
for a big-bang local-language launch by November 2019. The launch was delayed, the executive says, because Audible is securing agreements with a large number of regional-language publishers so that it can go live with an extensive library in Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, and Bangla.
